Controversies have trailed the death of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade, Olubuse II as the Royal Traditional Council of the town, Wednesday, said the paramount ruler is alive and in good state of health.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, has died at the age of 85. Family sources say he died at about 5pm yesterday after a brief illness. He was reportedly flown to UK in an air ambulance after he became unconscious following his illness. The late Oba is survived by wives and children. May his soul rest in peace Amen.

A 41-day-old baby, Zainab Olajide, has died after she was allegedly poisoned by her father, Kazeem Olajide, in a desperate attempt to divorce his wife.
The incident happened at about 7am on Friday in the Lemode area of Ogun State. According to Punch,the mother, Abosede Ogundare, had left Zainab with Kazeem to sweep the compound only to come back and met the baby with foams gushing out from her mouth.

There was a horrific accident along Ikorodu road, Lagos this morning between Onipanu and Palmgrove bus-stop. Two trucks carrying load collided. The driver and passenger of one of the trucks died on the spot. The other truck driver survived and escaped from the scene. Another accident also happened close to this scene, at Aladiyye bus-stop on Ikorodu Road. A container fell on a car but thankfully no casualties in that accident. See the photos after the cut...

The last has not been heard about the murder of Alhaji Olatunji Rasaq, alias Alaso (aka Alhaji Gay), who was killed few weeks back in Alagbado area of Lagos state. The arrested suspects includes the Baale of Temidire Alagbado, Chief Nojeem Abioye, his son, and nine others. They were arrested and detained over the weekend, and are still being interrogated at the State Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence, SDCII, Yaba.

Presidency Allegedly Ordered Arrest Of Rivers INEC REC

Reports reaching us inform that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), for Rivers State, Dame Gesila Khan, was apprehended by State Security Services, SSS operatives over her role in the conduct of the recent general elections in the state.
According to Nigerian Pilot, the REC was detained in an underground cell with nobody having access to her, including her family and lawyer.
