Man dies during sex with prostitute in Aba

                
A man, identified as Ogadinma Chukwu, has lost his life while having sex with a commercial sex worker at a popular brothel located on St. Michael’s Road, Aba, Abia State.
Sources said the deceased, whom they alleged to be a regular visitor to the brothel, died while romping the prostitute.It was gathered that immediately Chukwu slumped and died, the prostitute contacted her colleagues and the manager of the brothel who moved his corpse to a sanitary lane at the back of the brothel.

A Ghanaian comedian, Musah Iddrisu, and a Congolese, Inana Cedrick, have been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
Iddrisu and Cedrick were arrested during the inward and outward screening of Ethiopian airline passengers respectively at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
NDLEA Commander at the airport, Mr. Udoh Nsikak-Abasi, said, “Iddrisu was found to have ingested 450 grammes of cocaine. He was on his way to Thailand.  Cedrick was caught with 1.500 kilogrammes of heroin which he tried importing into the country.
 “A third suspect, a Nigerian, John Nwadilichukwu, was also arrested.  He was to receive Cedrick at the airport, collect the drug and pay him for smuggling the drug.”

President Jonathan's 'Foster Father' Abducted In Otuoke, Bayelsa State

                         
About ten heavily armed gunmen kidnapped Chief Inengite Nitabai, President Goodluck Jonathan's first cousin and father-like figure, from his residence in Otuoke, Ogbia LGA of Bayelsa State.
The kidnappers stormed the Nitabai family compound at between 8 and 9 p.m. on Sunday February 23rd. Apart from the victim, his wife, three of their children and his wife's sister were in the house at the time of the attack.
According to Chief Nitabai wife's sister, 37-year-old Akinobebh Jin, the alarm was raised by one of the sons as he saw the criminals. The family was confused as to what actions to take, she says.
Five of the kidnappers entered the house, barking the orders, some of them followed members of the family to the kitchen. The hoodlums ordered them to lie down, threatening to shoot them. They hit Chief Nitabai's wife on the head and demanded money, while Mr. Nitabai was hit with the butt of a gun.

A female lawyer based in Calabar Cross River State, Florence Ujinka, was picked up and interrogated by the police for torturing her 13 year old househelp, Chidera Asonye Nathaniel. Florence is reported to have used an old fan belt to inflict marks on young Chidera.
The woman was reported to the police by a Child Rights Group called Basic Rights Counsel Initiative in Calabar, who revealed that since the woman and her husband brought Chidera from Anambra state to Calabar in 2012 to serve as their househelp, Mrs Ujinka had repeatedly subjected the young boy to torture and inhuman treatment.
"Mrs Florence Ujinka has been subjecting Chidera to inhuman and degrading treatment by torturing him with an automobile fan belt and in the process inflicting him with severe wounds on his body”. The group said
The group wants the police to file a case of 'torture, inhuman and degrading treatment and child trafficking' against the lawyer and her doctor husband. The police in Calabar have promised to investigate the matter and said the couple would be brought to book soon and made to face the law

The suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Lamido Sanusi, on Sunday described President Goodluck Jonathan  as a simple man trying to do well  but  surrounded  by “extremely incompetent and fraudulent” aides.
Sanusi   was suspended by   Jonathan on Thursday over alleged financial misconduct, an action viewed by many analysts as politically-motivated.
In an interview with the Agence France Presse  in Lagos, Sanusi said many of the people advising Jonathan  were sycophants, who did  not speak frankly about the extent of corruption in government.
He said, “When you sit with  the President, he appears a nice and  simple person who is trying   to do his best.

Fashola Orders Reopening Of LASU, Examination Timetable Released

                     
Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola, Friday, directed the re-opening of the Lagos State University, LASU, from Monday February 24. This he said he did in the best interest of the students.
Authorities of the school had earlier in the month ordered the closure of the institution following violent protest by irate students over closure of school’s portal to registration. Properties worth millions of naira were destroyed during the protest.

 A student of University of Ibadan was raped and killed in on February 19th 2014 in a home she shares with her sister at Opeyemi street, Gbagi in Ibadan.
27-year-old Taiwo Omolara Shittu, a 500 level student of the Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management was found dead lying lifeless in a pool of blood at about 5:30 p. m that day.
Her sister returned from work to meet her dead with her pants down to her ankle and machete wounds in her head.
The murder weapon, a machete reportedly belonging to the man that cuts grass for them, was found in the room with blood stains.
According to reports, the labourer, Alakia Adenubi has been arrested in connection with the crime.
Adenubi has denied involvement with the murder of Shittu. The case has been transferred to the State CID.

Why Judge Sentenced Slain Banker Titilayo’s Husband To Death

                           
Justice Lateefat Okunnu of the Ikeja High Court, on Friday, convicted Akolade Arowolo who murdered his wife, Titilayo, at their Isolo residence in 2011.
In sentencing Mr. Arowolo to death, the judge said that the prosecution proved their case beyond reasonable doubt and established that the defendant was responsible for his wife’s death.
Mrs. Okunnu said that she reached her verdict by relying on the evidences of the pathologist who conducted a post-mortem examination on the deceased’s corpse, the parents of the convict who were “not witnesses of truth”, and the contradictory statements of the convict.
