Ekiti State has a unique governor, like it or hate it. Ayo Fayose has said he patronises drinking joints every Friday in order to get close to the ‘common man’ in the state.

Governor Fayose said this in Abuja on Thursday while defending the concept of 'stomach infrastructure' that was introduced by his government. He told journalists that it would be wrong to assume that stomach infrastructure meant only sharing of food and money to the people.
Fayose said, “I also go to beer parlour on Fridays to stay with the common men there. Governance is not church; it is about diverse characters and you must relate with them as such.
“Christmas is coming, why do people go out of their ways to be shopping or doing other things if it is not just to make people merry?
“So, I’m grooming chicken, buying rice, yams, plantain, and the rest of them. I am sure if I give them to families during the festive period, they will be happy. So, stomach infrastructure is a way of life.”

As National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) call-up letter are to be issued to prospective corps members for their 1-year national service, Campus Portal NG has published the list of orientation camp addresses to help them with finding the right place.

Most camps are not located in the places where they can be easily found by first-time visitors of the state.

Resign Within 21 Days Or Face #Ondo Wrath - Labour Party To Olusegun Mimiko

The National Working Committee (NWC) on Wednesday, October 29, advised Ondo Governor Olusegun Mimiko to respect Labour Party (LP) constitution and resign from office within 21 days.
Mimiko who was elected into office as LP candidate left the party and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
As The Nation reports, LP’s commettee took the decision after a meeting in Abuja.
A statement issued by the LP National Publicity Secretary, Ikpe Etokudo, says: “The NWC came to the inevitable conclusion that the constitution of the republic and provision of relevant section of the electoral laws must be respected by Dr. Olusegun Mimiko and his new party – the PDP.

An unidentified suspected rapist has been killed in the Lekki area of Lagos State while attempting to rape a 22-year-old woman, Ifeoma Okechukwu.

It was learnt that the incident happened on Monday, around 12.30pm, in Atlantic View Estate, Alpha Beach Road, Lekki. Punch learnt that Okechukwu was on her menstrual period and had gone out to buy sanitary pads. The Imo State indigene was said to be on her way back home when she was accosted by the stranger.

Lisa Reid, from Auckland, had been legally blind because of a tumour pressing down on her optic nerve but one night she hit her head while kissing her dog, Ami (right), goodnight. The incident miraculously helped restore part of Ms Reid's sight. But like many people, Ms Reid has benefited from New Zealand's Blind Foundation who provide support for people with vision-impairment. This week is Blind Week which raises money for the foundation.

One couple's romantic moment in the sea ended in agony when their genitals became stuck together.
Two amorous Italians decided to take advantage of a sunny day on an almost-deserted beach by heading into the sea together.
Unable to control themselves, they engaged in a passionate embrace, according to the Italian newspaper The Local.

But their lovemaking came to an embarrassing end when the man was unable to extract himself from the woman due to suction, it was reported.
They were forced to remain in the water until they manage to flag down a woman walking past, who offered them a towel to cover their tangled bodies as they struggled back to shore.
A doctor was called to the beach at Porto San Giorgio, Italy, but the case was so severe the couple were taken to the emergency room at a local hospital.

His wife has petitioned the Governor of the State, IG and Police Commissioner saying life has been unbearable for her since the incident happened and also wants justice. Youth Corps Member, identified as Chinyere, at the weekend landed in trouble in Asaba, Delta State, when a love potion meant to charm a 32-year- old graduate of chemistry backfired, Leadership reports.
The incident which occurred around Redeemed Junction along Okpanam community road, Asaba, followed a long relationship between the suspect and the young man, who hails from Ibusa community near Asaba. It was said that they started dating while they were both in Lagos, until she graduated and was posted to Asaba for her youth service.

An angry father, Kevin Jones, scolded his 10-year-old daughter on Facebook this morning for lying about her age, dating boys, and having social media accounts.
In addition to embarrassing her on social media, he is making his daughter wear a t-shirt with the inscription, “I am 10 years old” on the front, and “5th Grader” inscribed on the back.

Some leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State are angry with First Lady Dame Patience Jonathan for her alleged interference in the state’s party affairs.
According to Punch, she is asking the party to “accommodate” former governor of the state Rashidi Ladoja in PDP.
Ladoja, who is a former PDP member, is now the National Leader of the Accord Party, and has governorship aspirations. It is being alleged that Dame Patience wants Ladoja to run for governor under PDP.
However, the state’s party leaders are unhappy about the First Lady’s interference in their affairs.
One of them said:

The political landscape has changed, the leading opposition APC now controls the House of Reps:
PDP National leadership has welcomed the defection of the Speaker of the House, Aminu Tambuwal, to the APC but they want him to resign as speaker because he is no longer a member of their party.

After almost one year of speculation and hob-nobbing with APC leaders, Tambuwal, formally dumped the PDP for the APC on Tuesday.

Reacting to Tambuwal’s defection, PDP's Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, said the honourable thing for Hon. Tambuwal now is to resign.

Metuh said in a statement: “The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has met with PDP leaders in the House of Representatives concerning the defection of the Speaker. After a thorough consideration of the matter, the NWC came to a conclusion that the Honourable Speaker, as a responsible elected officer, knows full well what is needful and honourable of him since his new party is in the minority.

A fresh crisis is brewing in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over insistence of some of its members to contest its presidential primary with President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the 2015 polls.
But the National leadership of the party has refused to sell the presidential nomination and expression of interest forms to two other presidential aspirants, keeping the only one form for President Jonathan.

The two aspirants, Dr. Abdul-Jhalil Tafawa-Balewa and Prof. Akasoba Duke-Abiola, were at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja on Tuesday to purchase the forms, but they were turned back.

An Abuja-based woman, Mrs Adenike Kolawole, (pictured left) who was barren for 27 years, has reportedly given birth to a baby boy after carrying a 5-year pregnancy. Is that even possible?

According to PM News, Mrs Adenike gave birth on Sunday October 26th at Evangelical Church of Cherubim and Seraphim located at Pipeline Road, Mafon area, Ejigbo, Lagos during the church's Sunday service.

President of Zambia, Michaal Sata has died at the age of 77. He died yesterday October 28th at the King Edward VII hospital in the United Kingdom after suffering from an undisclosed ailment.

Born July 6 1937, Mr Sata was elected Zambia's President in September 2011. He is survived by wife Christine and 20+ children. May his soul rest in peace, Amen

Boko Haram survivors give shocking accounts of their ordeal

He soon began to threaten me with a knife to have sex with him and when I refused, he brought out his gun, warning that he would kill me if I shouted.
“Then he began to rape me every night … I had never had sex before; it was very painful and I cried bitterly because I was bleeding afterwards.”
These were the words of a 15-year-old girl, who was abducted by Boko Haram and forcibly married to one of its commanders in a camp in the Sambisa Forest, Borno State.

The girl, according to a report by Human Rights Watch, was abducted in 2013 but she escaped after four weeks in captivity.

Umar killed 5 pupils in a road accident and to reported himself at the police station. Angry youths from the community however invaded the police station, brought Umar out and burnt him to death.
A lecturer at the Taraba College of Education, Alhaji Kassimu Umar, has been lynched and burnt to death by an angry mob after he allegedly killed five primary school pupils with his car.
Student Pulse gathered that Umar knocked down the children, aged between 8 and 11, while trying to dodge a trailer in the early hours of Friday, Punch reports.

25 year old Blessing Onyibe Nwogbagami, (pictured above) has been arrested by men of the Ebonyi state Police command for killing her husband, Mr Onwe Nwogbagami, near their home at Ojegbe Amike Ugbodo, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
The mother of one attacked her husband with a cutlass while he was sleeping at an uncompleted building on October 13th. Explaining why she killed her husband, Blessing told Sunday Sun

The use of commercial motorcycles, popularly known as “Okada” may soon be banned nationwide, if the federal government approves a proposal made by the National Council on Transport.

The proposal for the ban was introduced at the council’s annual conference in Enugu State, and has been endorsed by the Minister of Transport, Idris Umar, Punch reports.

According to a statement released by the ministry, the ban was one of the measures being proposed to ensure adequate provision of safe and secure means of transportation in the country.

All the state commissioners of transport as well as directors and officials in the federal and state ministries of transport across the country attended the conference. They were all advised by the council to discourage the use of commercial motorcycles in their respective states, and to adopt safer and more efficient transport systems.

Remember the father who abandoned his three children at an Ogun State boarding school for eight years because he couldn’t afford to take care of them? Well he finally went to visit them last Friday.

According to Punch, the dad, Segun Adepegba, was extremely emotional when he saw his kids. Locking them in a tight embrace, he promised to never abandon them again.

“I am sorry for leaving you, Titi, Seun and Seyi. I am really very sorry. I have missed you all so much. I will not leave you again,” he said to his children.

When he arrived at the school, Solid Model College, there was an angry mob waiting to attack him because they were angry about the fact that he had left his children alone for so long. However, three of Adepegba’s friends who accompanied him on the visit, managed to assuage the crowd, telling them he was sorry for his actions, and that he was a changed man.

Mrs. Patience Jonathan, wife of the President, cried out on Sunday over comments that were credited to the Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi that she asked him to share the state’s funds with her.
Amaechi had while speaking in Port Harcourt at the joint graduation of the students of the University of Ibadan and pioneer graduates of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, on Saturday was quoted as saying that his problem with Mrs. Jonathan started after he rejected her demand.

Most of you have read the story, but just to remind you. On Tuesday April 30th, a 25 year old bricklayer named Akinloye Anuoluwapo slit his ex-girlfriend’s throat, a 21year old girl named Rafiyat Akinyemi, then had s*x with her as she bled to death in her father’s house at Ogijo in Ogun state.

I had once sent a message to her, appealing that she should not abandon me because I was disowned by my parents because of her, saying that I would commit suicide if she did. Building collapse: T.B Joshua to appear before coroner Nov. 5th

Prophet T.B Joshua will on Nov. 5th face the Lagos State coroner investigating the circumstances that led to the collapse of the church 5-storey building which killed 115 people.

At a sitting which held today Oct. 24th, the coroner, Magistrate O.A. Komolafe said it was mandatory the man of God and the contractor that handled the building project appear before him to give their own account of what led to the building collapse, a position the defense counsel argued against but was objected by the coroner
