Sometimes human children become isolated from the appropriate human contact and care. Such children usually lack even basic social behaviour and can hardly speak or walk on two feet. Some of them after needed care of doctors can return to normal social life, but the vast of them will never recover.
1. Monkey boy of Uganda
John Ssebunya
John Ssebunya was born in 1984. He ran away to the forest when he was nearly three years old. Probably it happened because he watched his father shoot his mother. Soon after, his father hanged himself. While he was in jungle, John was cared for at least to some extent by green African (vervet) monkeys. In a year John has been found. He looked more like a gorilla than a boy. He couldn’t talk or cry. Boy walked on his knees and knuckles. But with the help of his new foster family John learned to speak and behave properly. John was the subject of the BBC documentary Living Proof, screened in October 1999. Now he is a fully grown up man. He has his own house and hopes of marrying a beautiful wife so that he can finally create his own family.

They cared for her and when in 1991 doctors saw Oxana she can’t speak and growled, barked, walked on all fours and crouched like a wild dog, sniffed at her food before she ate it. They only two words she knew were “yes” and “no”. Now girl is 30, she lives in a home for the mentally handicapped. She underwent years of specialized therapy and education to address her behavioral, social and educational issues. She was taught to speak fluently, and many of her behavioral problems were remedied.
