Chelsea FC signs 17-yr old Nigerian defender

The teenager took to his Twitter account on Friday, June 3, 2015 to announce the signing with a picture of himself signing his contract.
English football club, Chelsea FC has signed 17-years old Nigerian defensive player, Fikayo Tomori.
The Canadian born Nigerian announced his admission into the football club that also has countryman, John Mikel Obi on board.

'Happy to have signed my professional contract with Chelsea FC today. Proud moment for my family and I,' he wrote.
Fikayo Tomori putting pen to paper for Chelsea FC 
Tomori was signed alongside Jay Dasilva, Miro Muheim and Charlie Wakefield on Friday.
The official Twitter handle for the football club confirmed the signing with the tweet, 'Congratulations to Jay Dasilva, Fikayo Tomori, Miro Muheim and Charlie Wakefield on signing professional contracts at Chelsea today. CFC'.

According to the information provided on Chelsea's official website, Tomori signed as an Under-8 and has been predominantly a defensive player through the age groups, mostly on the right side of central defence or at right-back. He’s originally from Kent and is one of just two of the 2014/15 new scholars, along with Tammy Abraham, who didn’t come into the full-time school programme and instead trained with Chelsea once a week on day release.
