Housewife arrested in Enugu for faking her own kidnap (PICTURED)

A woman who tried to prey on her husband’s affection for her by allegedly orchestrating her own kidnap has been arrested by police officers in Enugu.

Nancy Chukwu, a trader, reportedly hired a motorcyclist to aid her in the dastardly act and together they connived to demand a ransom of N200,000.

The accomplice called Mrs Chukwu’s husband to make the demand but instead of paying the ransom, he went to the police who were able to unravel the situation.

Vanguard reports:
Mrs Chukwu, a housewife and trader, reportedly gave her husband’s phone number to her alleged accomplice— a commercial motorcyclist.

The man then called her husband and, pretending to be a kidnapper, demanded the money to be paid into an account if he wanted to see his wife again.

The woman is believed to have hidden herself with the man, waiting to get a positive response from the husband, Marcus Chukwu.

Rather than pay, he went to the police, who eventually traced the bank account to a friend of the motorcyclist.

Mrs Chukwu and the alleged accomplice were arrested, and a police spokesman later said they both confessed to the crime.
