Farmers’ Group Donates N5bn for Buhari’s campaign

                              
The Buhari/Osinbajo campaign has started getting their own billions too. A group of yam farmers cutting across some northern states in the country on Tuesday pledged to support the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate Mohammadu Buhari’s 2015 campaign with N5 billion.

The group disclosed this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Jos.

Reverend Jacob Musa, Public Relations Officer, PRO, of the farmers on the name “Buhari-Osibajo Presidential Appeal Campaign Fund, BOPCAF, said that farmers from Taraba, Nasarawa, Plateau, Adamawa, Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Niger and Kaduna states as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, would feature at the occasion.

Dismissed female worker connives with others to rob former employer

                       
A dismissed worker of Tecno phones Nigeria Ltd, Stella Chimezie, has been arrested for conspiring with four men to rob her former employer in Abuja.

Chimezie, along with Abdulazeez Abdulraseed, Okafor Okwudili, Moses Joseph and Peter Akoo, were paraded by the FCT Police Commissioner, Wilson Inalegwu, on Tuesday, for stealing four Tecno phones and seven phone screens valued at N500,000.
According to Punch, Inalegwu explained that Chimezie invited the men to burgle the company office, but the robbers surprisingly attacked and robbed her of her phones and handbag as well.

The Federal Government had earlier declared January 1, 2015 as public holiday to mark the New Year.

22-yr old dropout arrested for killing dad in Lagos

                      
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 22-year-old Oluwaropo Tifase, for allegedly killing his father, Moses Tifase, in the Mile 2 area of the state.

Our correspondent learnt that Oluwaropo, who is the fifth child and only son of the family, had had clashes with his parents in the past over financial issues.

According to the police, Oluwaropo, a suspected cultist, was rusticated from a university in Ondo State, a few years ago for some cult-related offences.
Punch Metro gathered that 75-year-old Moses, a retired mechanical engineer, was stabbed to death in the neck with a pair of scissors.

Boy stabs father to death with scissors

                        
A 22-year-old student, Oluwaropo Tifase, has been arrested by the Lagos state police command, for killing his 75 year old father, Moses Tifase, in the Mile 2 area of the state.

 According to reports, Oluwaropo, a suspected cultist, who was rusticated from a university in Ondo State, a few years ago for some cult-related offences, is the fifth child and only son of the family.
He had had clashes with his parents in the past over financial issues, only to stab his father, a  retired mechanical engineer,  in the neck with a pair of scissors.
It was learnt that Oluwaropo allegedly sneaked into his father’s bedroom to carry out the act on December 6.

Four Armed Robbers Killed On Christmas Eve Shoot Out With Police Along Kano-Zaria Road

                       
Four suspected armed robbers on Wednesday met their waterloo following an encounter with a police patrol team along the Kano-Zaria road.
Addressing a press conference yesterday at the Bompai Police headquarters, the state Commissioner of Police, Aderinle Shinaba, said that the men of the underworld were in the process of wreaking havoc while people were celebrating Christmas.
The robbers were operating at Kwanar Dan-Gora, some 30 Kilometers away from the Kano city centre.
Mr. Shinaba said that the suspected robbers opened fire on sighting the police van near Kariya village, close to Nigeria Law School in Bagauda, Kano, which resulted in their death as the police responded with superior firepower.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has directed all its branches across the country to start issuing the commemorative centenary notes as from Friday, in line with earlier announcement by the apex bank.

The specie of the fish is unknown but sources present say that the animal is large and white with brownish ridges on it.
The fish seems to have died after being butchered by people who saw it.

The late Aremu whose age was put around 56 years, was a driver to S.K Transport Service Nigeria Limited. He reportedly loaded the truck with plate number AGL 368 XA with aviation fuel worth N5.5 million and consequently left Lagos for Port Harcourt on November 13, 2014, to discharge the product.
But before leaving Lagos State, he was said to have invited Saidu to work with him as his motor boy, with a promise to pay him an undisclosed amount at the end of the trip. But little did he realize that the invitation would end his life...
