Meet 10 Most Featured Yoruba Actresses

The Yoruba movie genre of Nollywood is unarguably an industry blessed with many talents, both male and female are putting in their best to take the industry to the zenith.  Aside acting, most of them have  vocational works they do, which has tremendously been yielding huge profit for them. Apart from being talented,  some of them (Actresses) who are extra good in delivering their lines on set. This babes has however become most sought-after actresses in the industry.
These 10 selected Yoruba actresses are currently most featured in the Yoruba movie industry, as producers prefer featuring them and their fans accept any movie they take part in. This, has ultimately made the 10 of them have edge above others. They are as follow:

KEMI AFOLABI:

Kemi AFolabi Adesipe, popularly called Kemi Alagbara is a graduate of Law from the University of Lagos. She is an actress cum movie producers with many blockbusters to her credit. The pretty mother of one, whose husband lives in the United Kingdom, left the industry at a point for marital nuptial in the UK and delivered a baby girl during the holiday. The Ijebu Ayepe, Ogun State-born thespian made her returns in 2012 and she has since been the busiest actress in the industry, jumping from one location to another.  She is right now taking the lead in the Yoruba movie industry.

AYO ADESAYAN:

Another most featured actress is Ayo Adesanya. She began her career in 1996 after she had completed the National Youth Service Scheme. Her first appearance on television was on Tunji Bamishigbin’s soap opera titled Palace;She later joined the Yoruba- Speaking genre of Nigeria film and has featured, produced and directed several films. The Ijagun, Ijebu born mother of one has bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication. She is one actress producers don’t toy with.

For Jaye Kuti, she is not new in this game. And that’s because she’s a woman who has paid her dues in the industry. Jaiye joined the make-believe profession some years back, and has made a name in it. Together with Ayo Adesanya, they are both hot for sub-lead roles. Apparently, that is the role they play most time and they are very good at it.

For Iyabo Ojo you can call her the mother of all. This is because she has made herself very relevant in the industry. She engaged herself with many activities the industry needs.  Apart from having a salon, spa, event planning outfit. She  is now a movie distributor. She now releases movies via mobile marketing and stores across the nation. Despite her tight schedule, she still much features and also produces and she is now making her way to English speaking movie industry in Nigeria.

FATHIA BALOGUN:

Another person that cannot be omitted on this list is pretty actress, Fathia Balogun. She has starred and produced several movies over the years. In 2008, she won the Africa movie Academy Award for the Most Outstanding Actress Indigenous and her movie Iranse Aje won the best indigenous film of the year.  On April 2014, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award, having emerged as best actress of the year alongside Odunlade Adekola, who emerged as best actor of the year. Faithia Balogun also won the Best Indigenous Language: Yoruba award for the work done in the film Iya Alalake at the 2015 Africa-Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards AMVCA. She is hot presently in the industry.

MIDE MARTINS:

If you are very conversant with what is happening in the Yoruba movie industry, you will agree with us that the daughter of late Funmi Martins, Mide, had a lot of crisis in her marriage.Despite that, Mide has never let this weigh her down. She took her time to concentrate on the job that put food on her table and she is now one of the most featured actresses currently rocking the industry.

Allwell Ademola needs no introduction as far as Yoruba movie industry is concern. She is a renowned Actress, Filmmaker, Movie director, Scriptwriter and Musician, born and bred in Lagos. Acting for her started in 1985 when a man called Uncle Wole went to her school to scout for animal games then on NTA. She was the head of the cultural and dramatic society of her school, and she was selected among the few. She later featured in Tales by Moonlight. She later joined stage productions at the NCAC National Theatre in 1993, ROTBM Muson centre , Apapa club, 1995 where she worked with Cliff Igwe of “The draught Promise” and “The killer priest”, her first movie set with veterans like Prince Jide Kosoko, Edith Jane Azu, Hrh Wole Amele.

ENIOLA AJAO:

From the stable of Odunlade Adekola, Eniola Ajao is the next star in the making after the likes of Taiwo Aromokun and Tunde Owokoniran graduated from him. Being a producer, Odunlade has been featuring the pretty babe in most of his jobs lately especially the one produced by the students of his theater school.
