Three explosions reportedly occurred today in Okrika, Rivers State, near the venue of an APC rally.
A multitude of APC supporters were gathered at the venue awaiting APC leaders when the explosions occurred.
Punch reports that the source of the explosions was fireworks thrown by “mischief makers.”
However, everyone is paying more attention to one of the reporters at the scene of explosion.
Charles Eruka of Channels TV assumed the lock down position and kept reporting during the said attack.
He got stabbed and is believed to be seriously injured.
The party supporters that were dispersed by the three separate explosions (fireworks) had immediately reconvened only to now be sent out of the campaign venue by real sporadic gunshots.
Security agents went down on the ground after drawing their guns in a bid to spot out where the unknown gunmen were hiding to hit them back. - but Charles Eruka didn't get lucky!
His camera man, identified simply as Ekikere, claimed the victim was critically injured adding that they are currently taking refuge at a church close to the National Secondary School, venue of the rally.
"A member of Channels Television crew has been stabbed and is currently receiving treatment in a hospital." Channels TV confirms
