Man Rapes Female Student, Now He's Blaming The Devil

A man, Casmir Eze, is in police net in Enugu for forcefully having his way with a 15-year-old girl at gun point. The victim, Marcillus Ogechi, an orphan is an SS1 student in a public secondary school.

The incident happened in the Udenu area of Enugu State on Sunday, May 22. It was learnt that around 2:00 am on that day, Eze, entered the girl's family house after scaling a fence into the compound.

He stormed Ogechi’s room and ordered her to open the door or risk being killed.

The girl, who was equally warned not to raise the alarm, eventually opened the door. It was also gathered that upon entering the room, Eze, who covered his face with a mask, further ordered Ogechi to undress and put off the lantern, after which he forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.

Eze, who did not know that he was identified by the victim, was arrested after Ogechi and her relatives, who were informed of the incident, reported the incident to the police.

Spokesman of the Enugu State Police Command, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the development, said the suspect was in custody and investigations had commenced.

In his statement to police, Eze owned up to the act but blamed the devil for his decision to r*pe her.

According to the suspect, he had been nursing amorous feelings for Ogechi for a while, but did not know how to express his intentions to the girl. He said he was frustrated by the inability to express his feelings.

“It was the devil that pushed me into the act – I don’t know what came over me. I have been targeting how to get the girl since but I don’t know how to go about it; so I had to come through this way,” Eze said.

The suspect has been begging for forgiveness, promising that he won't do such again.
