For now, the APC is on the defence and the PDP is on the attack. The battle moves to Osun State in August and the shocker in Ekiti is causing a lot of feverish feelings. PDP candidate is hoping that the people will take the move and follow the Ekiti example, but APC candidate who is the incumbent says he has performed.
Regardless of the electoral victory of Ekiti State governor-elect, Ayo Fayose, at the Saturday governorship poll, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Osun, Governor Rauf Aregbesola has said he would still win because he is the people's choice.
Reacting to the outcome of the Ekiti poll won by the PDP on Sunday, Aregbesola said:
“The beauty of democracy is that the will of the people prevails.” He reassured of his party’s confidence to win the August 9 2014 election, saying “the support base of my party and government remained unflinching.”
He said he has mingled and related with the people at the grassroots and that their love for him is obvious.
