‘My wife’s turning into a whore’ – Husband cries out

Mrs. Usman, a business woman at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, sued for a divorce on grounds of constant trouble, persistent fighting, lack of care and negligence of her and her two children.

She told the court that she got married to Mr. Usman in 2004 and had 2 children, Victor and Blessing aged seven and five respectively.

Reports say:

Faith had also told the court that her husband fights her constantly saying Usman accused her of selling beer at the University Conference hall which she said was not true.

She also complained that her husband did not want her to work, saying University did not allow anybody to sell beer, but only soft drinks were allowed in the academic environment.

The wife condemned her husband’s attitude and maltreatment towards her, saying ”I can no longer continue with the marriage because my husband lacks care, love, trust and he threatens me often.

“I cannot continue with my husband, he has not been showing love and care to me and my two children”.

But Usman denied the claim, saying his wife sells beer and wanted to turn herself to prostitute in which he cannot allow his house wife to be.

Faith appealed to the court to grant her the custody of the children so that she can take proper care of the children educationally and morally.

The Court President, Mr Abidoye Olatunbosun said all effort to resolve the dispute between the couple had proved abortive.

Olatunbosun dissolved the marriage and ordered each to go their separate ways.

The president also ordered that the two children should be in the custody of the mother and the father should give N4,000 and N3,000 respectively to Victor and Blessing monthly for their feeding and up-keep.

Olatunbosun added that their school fees and hospital expenses should be taken care of by the father.
