The mother of Delano Wilson, a 6-week-old baby boy who was kidnapped at gunpoint in Indianapolis Wednesday, has made an impassioned plea for his safe return.
“Please, just please bring my baby back,” the boy’s mother, Taniasha Perkins, told reporters on Thursday. “He’s just one month old. I love my child. I just gave birth to him. He is my one and only son, my first born.”
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department issued an Amber Alert following the kidnapping, which happened around 12 p.m. Wednesday, in an alley in the 1400 block of Henry Street. The child is believed to be in extreme danger.

According to police, 23-year-old Willie Wilson was walking in the alley holding Delano when an unidentified white man and an unidentified Latino female approached him.
“The white male pointed a gun at him and struck him in the head with the handle of the gun,” the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said in a press release.”
After he was pistol-whipped by the male suspect, the elder Wilson suffered a brief blackout. When he regained consciousness, he saw the couple take his son and get into a blue Ford Taurus, believed to be a 2000-2003 model year, police said.
Authorities conducted an extensive search of the area, but were unable to locate the child or his alleged abductors. However, officers did arrest the child’s father on an unrelated possession of marijuana charge.
“I don’t wish this on other parents,” Perkins said Thursday. “I’m too young to be going through this. I just got my job two days ago. I was going to provide for my baby. He means the world to me and his dad. We are good parents. We work hard. We work really hard to provide for a child.”
Delano is described as an African American male, about 16 inches long, weighing 12 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark blue onesie.
The male suspect is described as 25-30 years old, 5’6″-5’9″ tall, with a medium build and short brown hair. He was wearing a red t-shirt, blue jean shorts, red, blue and black tennis shoes and a black “do rag.”
Authorities say the female suspect is 25-30 years old, with a thin build and long brown hair. She was wearing a green shirt and matching green hoop earrings.
“[This] is just tearing a hole in my family and in my heart,” said Perkins. “He doesn’t deserve this. Please, please let my son go.”
