RONALDO PASSES MESSI IN EUROPE

Cristiano Ronaldo’s two goals against Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup, made the total number of his goals in European competitions to increase to 70 and thus has spent his chief rival, Lionel Messi.

In April of 2012, the Portuguese had 18 goals behind the Argentine, but over the years, he has not only achieved but exceeded the 27-year-old. Only in the last two editions of the Champions League, CR7 has scored 29 goals.

29-year-old now has 68 goals in the Champions League and two goals in the European Super Cup – 70 in total. He now shares second place with former Juventus and AC Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi.

First on the list is the Madrid legend Raul, who has scored 76 goals with Real Madrid and Schalke in European competitions.

Messi has scored 67 goals in the Champions League and a goal in the UEFA Super Cup and has 68 goals in its entirety.
