This Beautiful Naija Lady Was Killed By Boyfriend for Refusing To Marry Him

I just wonder when love and marriage become a do-or-die affair in our country, that people will want to take the life of their fellow human being all for their selfish agenda. This is a dirty and ugly trend!

For refusing his marriage proposal, a man working with MTN as a franchise officer has stabbed his lover, Tosin Ashinwa to death in Tanke area of Ilorin, Kwara State.

The man also stabbed her mother, who tried to settle the dispute between the two. The lady’s mother escaped death with serious injuries, while her daughter (the man's lover) lost her life.

Sources said the lady’s mother was rushed to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) where she was receiving treatment. Investigations revealed that the lovers, who had been going out
for some time, had also been involved in serious argument over the issue of marriage.

Investigations revealed that the duo, who had reportedly been going out for some time, had also been having serious argument over issue of marriage, with Tosin, said to be in her 30s, always insisting that she could not marry the man because he allegedly went out with several other women at the same time.

It was learnt that they went out on Sunday night and returned to the girl’s house at Tanke area of Ilorin where the mother had also come to visit her daughter.

Early on Monday morning, the argument resurfaced with the girl still maintaining her position. The man was said to have threatened to kill the lady if she refused his proposal.

It was at the height of the argument that the lady’s mother came out of her room to settle the dispute. The man was said to have dashed into the kitchen, picked up a knife and attacked the two women. While he succeeded in killing his lover, the mother sustained injuries before neighbours were alerted to the scene by the woman’s cries for help.

However, New Telegraph reports that another version claimed that the man, who is currently on the run, had first reported for duty at his office on the University of Ilorin Road before he told his colleagues he wanted to go and pick something at home. A source, who saw the body of the lady, said she was stabbed several times in the neck and around the back of the armpit.

An autopsy was to be conducted on her body at the UITH to enable the institution to file a proper report.

Police PRO, Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident. Police are already on the trail of the fleeing lover.
