Jose Mourinho will consider other options if Chelsea's potential final bid for Man Utd striker Wayne Rooney fails
Jose Mourinho has suggested that Chelsea are ready to make at least one more bid for Wayne Rooney but has also now stressed that "different decisions" could be made and is refusing to rule out the possibility of turning to Samuel Eto'o.
Mourinho had previously said that it was "Rooney or bust" for him this transfer window but, after having had bids of £20 million and £25 million already rejected by Manchester United, he has indicated that Chelsea might have to re-evaluate where they stand.
"We are trying to get one player and we'll see what happens," said Mourinho. "Before the transfer window closes, we'll make decisions. The decisions can be different decisions.
"Every manager is looking always to try and strengthen their squad. We all say 'no' but we lie to the last day, when the market is open, because we're all waiting for something to happen.
"Even if we say we're very happy with our squad, we lie, because we always want to make it better. We'll see what happens, not just with us but with Man United. I like my squad.
"I'm not lying there. I enjoy working with these young people, some of whom are taking their first steps in the Premier League."
