Former President Allegedly In Plot To Impeach Fayose

Former President Allegedly In Plot To Impeach Fayose
Governor Ayodele Fayose

Ekiti state has been engulfed in a political stalemate between the governor and the 19 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state House of Assembly who have vowed to impeach the governor before the end of the current dispensation on May 29.

A reliable source has told Thisday newspaper that the renewed plot to oust the governor before May 29 has now been hatched by the 19 APC lawmakers and a former president.
According to the source, the APC lawmakers approached the former president, through an ex minister of Ekiti state, to help them dislodge the security agents who have laid siege to the Ekiti assembly complex so as to pave way for their return to the building.
“A former minister from Ekiti State sent a senator to a former president. When he met him, the former president asked the 19 lawmakers to see him and they went. A top security personnel was invited to the meeting and they asked him what his men were doing at the Ekiti State House of Assembly.”

Following the fallout of the meeting, it was decided that the move to impeach Fayose will be hatched few days before May 29, precisely in the last weeks leading to the hand over date. “I can tell you that he will be removed before May 29,” the source added.
The forces which seek to get rid of Fayose consider him a liability and unfit to govern the state for four years.

The governor’s political uncertainty began shortly after an audio tape surfaced which purportedly recorded him having a conversation with Senator Obanikoro and some army officials on how to rig the elections which brought him in power.
Fayose who has also called for the resignation of Adamu Muazu was recently threatened by the national chairman of the PDP  to shut up or risk been exposed over his questionable victory in the Ekiti elections.
