Hazard named Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year
The Belgian earned around 53 per cent of the media vote after a season that has seen him start every Premier League game for Chelsea, notching 14 goals and eight assists

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has been named the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year with Harry Kane in second place and John Terry third.

Hazard, who claimed the PFA Player of the Year award last month, earned around 53 per cent of the media vote after inspiring Chelsea to their first Premier League title since 2010.

Along with John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic, the Belgian is one of only three Blues players to have started every league game for Jose Mourinho this season, notching 14 goals and eight assists.

PFA Young Player of the Year Kane finished in the runner-up spot after a fairytale breakthrough season that has seen him score 20 goals in 32 Premier League appearances.

And Terry completed the top three, having marshalled the Premier League's best defence to the fourth league title of his illustrious career.
