I thought Bayelsa people will boo, curse me – Jonathan

The immediate past president, Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday declared that he thought his people of Bayelsa State will curse and boo him for some decisions taken by his administration and its failure to bring expected development to the state.

The Lagos State Inaugural Ball was held yesterday at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos and the event was filled with supporters of the new Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode.

Alex Ekubo, AY Makun, Funke Akindele, Desmond Elliot, IK Ogbonna, Dayo Amusa and many more have been spotted at the gathering.

History was made as on Friday May 29, 2015, in Nigeria, Niger State to be precise as Abubakar Sani Bello emerged as the first governor in the country to be sworn-in by his mother in-law.

Bayelsa Government has planned a grand reception for President Jonathan as he leaves office tomorrow. Jonathan who will be returning to Bayelsa, Otueke his hometown will be received by the governor, his wife and top government officials, the Commissioner for Information has said.

The president-elect who has been on a 3-day visit to the United Kingdom is back in the country. He just touched down the Nnamdi Azikwe international airport in Abuja few minutes ago ahead of his swearing-in tomorrow. See another photo below.

Court adjourns N150billion suit filed by Tinubu against AIT

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has adjourned the N150billion libel lawsuit former Lagos state governor, Bola Tinubu filed against TV station AIT today May 27th. Tinubu had filed the suit against AIT in March for airing a documentary titled "Lion of Bourdilion" which he alleged was aimed at tarnishing his image.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a herbalist, Ismaila Abdullahi, and a prophetess, Bola Ojo, for allegedly defrauding two bank workers of a sum of N6m in the Egbeda area of the state.
The suspects, however, told PUNCH Metro that the bank workers brought the money to them for prayers without being coerced.They added that the bank workers wanted to perform ‘money rituals’.
According to the police, Ojo is the prophetess of a Cherubim and Seraphim church in the Iyana Ipaja area, while Abdullahi is a herbalist in the Egbeda area.

His resignation took effect immediately.
