We gathered exclusively that all the political issues and differences between OGD and Amosun which strained their relationship since they parted ways as friends in 2003 while OGD was the Governor was recently resolved for them by Oba Sikiru Adetona the Awujale of Ijebuland and some notable Ijebu ,Remo elders and chiefs few weeks to the 2015 April Governorship poll when Amosun won convincingly all over Ogun state.
According to City people, governor Amosun who was conscious of the hostility that Ijebu’s and Remos had to his government since he came on board in 2011 met with some stake holders in the zone who advised him to drop his hostility against OGD so that their people will not see him as a witch hunting the former governor and also trying to destroy all his legacies in the state.
They also promised him that they will get OGD to support his re-election if Amosun drops some policies his government is doing against some business interest of OGD in the state.
Amosun agreed to all request put to him by Awujale of Ijebu and Remo elders then a meeting was facilitated between him and OGD where both of them agreed to sheathe their battle swords and start afresh as friends again.
It was this secret deal that gave Amosun the outstanding result he recorded against GNI in Remo land during the April 15 Guber poll despite the fact that his party was trashed at the zone during the presidential election.
Stories which have now engulfed the gateway state is OGD’s seized hotel on IBB Boulevard Oke Mosan which is now being rumored to have been given back to OGD, might have emerged from the alleged deal too.
