Tribunal Upholds Ajimobi’s Election As Oyo Governor

The Governorship Election Petition Trubunal sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, has upheld the April 11 governorship election of the candidate of All Progressives Congress, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and dismissed the petition by Senator Rashidi Ladoja of Accord Party.

The judgment was delivered on Tuesday by the Justice Mohammed Aliyu Mayaki-led Tribunal, amidst tight security around the Iyaganku Magistrate Court in Ibadan, venue of the sitting.


Justice Mayaki in his ruling, submitted that the petitioner failed to link the evidences before the Tribunal to specific portions of the petition.
He also declared that the petitioner lacked the ability to prove his evidence before the Tribunal.
According to him, all the witnesses invited by the petitioner presented contradictory evidence before the Tribunal.
