Undoubtedly, the Yoruba genre of Nollywood is filled with various talents and intelligent people who many would be forced to reckon with. It appears that many of them have taken their jobs a notch higher aside their acting skills. Many of them have also been in acting for so long but recently decided to venture into movie production. 10 new producers making waves in the Yoruba movie industry are as follows:
Sexy actress, Ayonimofe Oniyibo is one of the glamorous girls in the industry and she is not resting on her oars. She is an actress who keeps herself busy. She got into acting not long ago but she has set a pace for herself. She recently shot yet another blockbuster movie entitled Tania Sequel. It promises to be a huge success. The talented Onibiyo is set to storm location for the shooting of another movie titled ‘’Ebu Ika’’.
Another person on this list is Funmi Awelewa who got into acting in august 2013 and she is right now enjoying the best of times in the industry. Although, she joined the industry late, the sexy actress has never let this weigh her down as she continues to wax stronger in her chosen career. She is one of the prettiest babes rocking Yoruba movie at the moment, she recently produced her debut movie titled ‘Aminu Amida’.
Temitope Solaja is an actress who starred in a movie titled, Opolo and many more. Recently, the beautiful actress shot her own movie titled Aruga which stars a lot of top actors and actresses. It was shot in Ajah Axis, Lagos. She is also one of the happening girls in the industry.
Early this year, one of the upcoming actors in the industry, Abdulateef Adetola Adedimeji was said to have secretly wedded another fast rising actress, Tawa Ajisefini due to the role they both played in a movie titled Last Assignment, produced by Tawa Ajinsefini. The film, which is her first production featured Lateef and a lot of stars. They both got married in the flick and this was based on contract.
The next person on this list is none other than the U.K based actress, Kenny George who got into acting in 2011 and started producing movies recently, they include Egbo Inu, Ojo Eti, Ejika, Ishana, Eje Aburomi, Diary, Koto, Pasan and Ofege. She is one actress who is born with a bunch of skills.
Recently, another fast rising actress, Opeyemi Balogun premiered her debut movie titled ‘‘pamolaya’’ in Lagos where Sule Alao MalaIka thrilled guests. Opeyemi is the youngest movie producer in the Yoruba movie industry at the moment. She got into acting when she enrolled for Afeez Owo’s school of performing arts. Subsequently, she left to join Samson Kogberegbe Group.
On Monday 20th April 2015, the much anticipated movie, Ahun which means stingy, was written and produced by fast rising actor, Olasunkanmi Akanni a.k.a Olohun Iyo. The blockbuster movie was released to market from the stable of Okiki Films. Olohun Iyo is famous for playing the role of an herbalist in the industry.
Another new and wave making Yoruba actress rocking the industry right now is Ifeoluwa Olawale. She released her much publicized movie, Amu Idunnu which is also her debut production.
If you are a movie buff and you haven’t seen Ejide Alakara that means you are yet to see a good movie with hot storyline. The movie was produced by Dolapo Taiwo who became popular as Ejide Alakara after she played the lead role in the movie. The labiran area of Ibadan –born actress got into acting in 1996 when she joined Tirimisiyu Ibiniwo (now a pastor) caucus for training. Having not relented, she then stepped forward by venturing into makeup business.
U.K –based actor and producer, Tomiwa Alajogun, is on the verge of making his mark in the Nigerian movie industry. Film lovers have begun to see his impact from April 2014 when he premiered his two films. The movies directed by Tunde Ola Yusuf featured the likes of Jide Kosoko, Ayo Adesanya and Lola Ajibola.
