Just hours to the inauguration of the Federal Executive Council to usher in the Ministers who will work with him to implement his policies and programs, Buhari has fired the Chairman of EFCC.
Ibrrahim Lamorde has been removed as chairman of the anti-corruption agency and he has immediately been replaced with a man described as a no-nonsense investigator, Ibrahim Magu.
The new EFCC boss, Magu, is a top level official of the Economic and Governance Unit of the EFCC.
Mr. Magu is known as a no-nonsense investigator of the commission at its inception. He was removed along with several other key officials by Farida Waziri when she became EFCC chairman in 2008.
Buhari brought Magu back in a move seen as strategic to kick start the fight against corruption.
