He was an erudite scholar and acclaimed advocate of communication as agent of development process.
A Fulbright fellow and author of many scholarly books on Development Journalism, he served variously as Head of Department, Mass Communication, University of Lagos, Editor-in-Chief Pan African News Agency (PANA), Radio Nigeria Kaduna and was external examiner to many universities including Liecester University, United Kingdom.
Left behind to mourn him are his wife of over 40 years Mrs. Joyce Chibuzo Uche, a retired director in the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, four children and five grand-children among who are Ugochukwu Uche, Adaku Uche Ekpo, Uzodinma Uche and Nnanenyem Uche.
