Bayern Munich confirm Pep Guardiola departure, former Real Madrid and Chelsea boss is his replacement

Guardiola will leave Bayern at the end of the season
Bayern Munich Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed to German newspaper Bild that manager Pep Guardiola will leave the club at the end of the season.

Rummenigge also confirmed that former Real Madrid and Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti will take over from the Spanish boss having agreed a three year contract. The club have now also confirmed the news.

Speculation has been rife over Guardiola's future at Bayern after he confirmed earlier this week that he would make an announcement over his future shortly, but now it seems that Rummenigge has beaten him to the punch.

Guardiola joined the German giants in 2013 and has led the club to back-to-back Bundesliga titles, while his side are currently eight points clear of Borussia Dortmund at the top of the table; however he's yet to deliver European success.

Manchester City have been tipped as his next destination, which forced current boss Manuel Pellegrini to face questions over his future yesterday. “I am sure Pep Guardiola will work here some day," the Chilean admitted.
